We all know a classic S'more, gooey marshmallows, creamy milk chocolate and crunchy graham crackers! A camping trip is not complete without it. How about putting a twist on it? Experimenting with added flavors and textures can be delicious and fun! Letting your kids add different toppings and create a S'more of their own design!

I wanted to share a few S'mores we made but don't let this limit your immagination! I've seen some interesting S'mores with ingredients like candid bacon, and chocolate dipped potatoe chips. Now, I am not sure I personally could get on board with those, just because I am not a huge fan of salty and sweet... unless its salted caramel, (thats my exception), but don't let my taste buds block your desires! Let those flags fly baby!!!

I will say outside of the classic S'more, my favorite addition was the roasted berries!! OH MY SWEET BABY JESUS, roasted berries were heavenly! It was an explosion of texture and taste!

I was happily surprised how simple the whole process was. Not to mention that it was also WELL worth it.

Roasted Berries ~

1 Hand-full Blueberries

1 Hand-full Strawberries

1 Hand-full Raspberries

3 Tablespoons Sugar

Parchment Paper

Simply mix the Berries with the sugar, than spread out over parchment paper on a cookie sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 20 mins, let cool and Viola! Such a divine and I honestly can't wait to put it over vanilla ice cream!

Next is Caramel S'mores! Anyone that knows me, knows I am a huge fan of Caramel! So, I decided to try my hand at making homemade Caramel Sauce. This was also super easy and I loved how it came out.

I was honestly scared considering I have never made caramel before. It seemed a little intimidating to cook sugar, I kept thinking boy o boy "Did I bite off more then I can chew?" It surely was not half as bad as I had planned it in my mind... I imagined smoke alarms going off, fire trucks being called out and of course burning the sugar to the point of no return! Turns out everything was just GROOVY, no fires or burnt caramel. I did use the dry sugar method, so that the sauce would be a little thicker. There is an option where you can add water to dissolve the sugar if you preferred to try it that way, but I did find it extremely fascinating watching the dried sugar go from granules to hard clumps then.....finally an amber colored liquid!

Caramel Sauce~

1 Cup Sugar

6 Tablespoons Butter

1/2 Cup Heavy Cream

1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Pinch of Salt

On LOW heat cook, 1 cup of sugar stirring frequently (Meaning, don't walk away from the stove even for a second all my multi tasking mama's!) You have to stir that baby like its a roux for a GUMBO! Constantly!!! I used a wood spoon and felt this was the easiest one to use because as the sugar cooked, it started to clump and get hard. Once all of your granules are clumps of hard sugar, you will start to notice it melting. This is where it gets fun! Change out your wood spoon for a whisk and once it is all melted add 2 tablespoons of butter. You will cook the butter into the melted sugar making sure it is completely dissolved. Continue to add 2 tablespoons of butter cooking it through until you finish all 6 tablespoons. Once that is done, you are going to add your heavy cream and vanilla extract. You just want to get the caramel a nice golden amber color, once this is achieved you are DONE! Add a pinch of salt and stir it in! YUMMMY!

Finally, for our last S'more, we made cookie butter S'mores. Remember several years back when cookie butter was a huge thing? Well, we added it to S'mores and it was pretty tasty! I will say, you could also easily do this with a hazelnut spread or peanut butter as well!

This is pretty simple, spread the cookie butter on a graham cracker and then add chocolate, and a marshmallow!

There are so many options you can try, so much fun you can have experimenting. Whether it's changing out the graham cracker for a waffle cookie (what we used in the roasted berry S'more) or adding different elements to the classic marshmallows and chocolate, one thing is clear S'mores are a HUGE favorite when it comes to camping/glamping!

There is something so magical about enjoying melted chocolate and marshmallows smooshed between two graham crackers.

Honestly, is there really anything better? Camping will always have this sense of enchantment for me and it all starts with sitting around a camp fire eating S'mores. Telling stories, laughing and enjoying the company of your friends and family, this is what it is all about!
